MEAL ACCOUNT INFORMATION
The Merrillville Community School Corporation is happy to announce a system that allows parents to put money on their student’s lunch account using a charge card or debit card!
This system has been in service the last 5 years and some of you may already be utilizing it. For those who are not aware of it, here is how it works:
Log on to: www.sendmoneytoschool.com
The 1st time you log on, you will be prompted to create an account using your student(s) I.D. #’s. You will be issued a password. KEEP THIS PASSWORD HANDY, YOU WILL NEED IT FOR FUTURE DEPOSITS AND VIEWING OF YOUR CHILD’S LUNCH ACCOUNT.
There is a $1.50 charge for making on-line deposits regardless of how much you deposit. The charge is always $1.50, even if you have multiple students and make one deposit and split it.
With this system, you will be able to make deposits, transfer funds from one sibling to another, view what your child is eating and keep track of their balance.
WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO USE THIS ONLINE SYSTEM WHICH WILL DRAMATICALLY REDUCE THE TIME REQUIRED TO SERVE LUNCH AS WELL AS PERMIT YOUR CHILD TO HAVE LUNCH WITHOUT HAVING TO CARRY CASH. THIS IS ALSO MUCH SAFER (NO LOST, STOLLEN OR FORGOTTEN LUNCH MONEY, ETC.) THE MONEY DEPOSITED WILL ACTUALLY BE IN YOUR CHILD’S ACCOUNT WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF MAKING THE DEPOSIT.
Prices for this school year are as follows:
Breakfast: K-12--$1.50 Lunch: K-6--$2.20, 7th & 8th--$2.30, 9th -12th--$2.40.
Of course, the cafeterias will continue to accept cash or checks for student lunches as well. When using a check YOU MUST include your driver’s license number and make your check payable to MCSC. If you are sending cash or a check to be put on the student’s account, please place the money in an envelope and write LUNCH MONEY, the child’s name, teacher’s name and amount on the outside of the envelope.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Sherrie in Food Services at 650-5300.
